May 06, 2021·5. Make your own detergent. You can make your own baby-friendly detergent by combining 1 cup of castile soap flakes, 1/2 cup washing soda, and 1/2 cup borax. Add 1 cup of the mixture to your washer and you're ready to launder! It is not recommended that you use homemade detergent on flame retardant garments.
Plus, the American Academy of Pediatrics says soap flakes can strip away the flame retardant properties of sleepwear. If you're worried about whether your baby's skin is too sensitive for regular detergent, do a test by laundering one or two articles of baby's clothing along with the rest of your family's wash.

Nov 19, 2014·I just washed all my baby clothes today!! Mum came to help me and she got me the Lux pure soap flakes. No normal washing powder as new born skin can be very sensitive. Lux is recommended by the breastfeeding association. The clothes smell absolutely gorgeous and so does my laundary!!!!

Soap nuts and eco balls leave very little residue but often leave the clothes not quite so clean ...
